Background
Activin A is a member of the transforming growth factor-β superfamily and regulates a wide variety of cellular events, including regulation of growth and metastasis of cancer cells, apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation of human embryonic stem cells. Activin A is also a critical mediator of inflammation[1].
